Setup & Usage Instructions:
Installation: OSX and Windows
IMPORTANT! Ensure you have installed all the programs listed in System Requirements and that you’re using the latest versions.
On your iPad, make sure you’re connected to the same network as your computer. This can either be your router, or an ad-hoc network running from your computer. If you’re getting slow response times using a router, try creating an ad-hoc network instead to link your iPad directly to your computer. Follow this guide for Mac. To do this on Windows 7, you can use Connectify for free. It turns your PC into a wireless hotspot. Depending on your version of Windows, setting up an ad-hoc network varies slightly. Search Google for “adhoc network” and your Windows version.
To connect on the iPad, press ‘Settings’ on the iPad, then ‘Wi-Fi’. From here you can choose from a list of available networks. Pick the one you’re using; either the router or the ad-hoc network you’ve just created.
There are several ways to connect your computer to TouchOSC but it’s easiest to use TouchOSC Bridge. Open TouchOSC Bridge on your computer
Open TouchOSC on your iPad and go to Settings. Ensure MIDI Bridge is enabled and you should see your computer’s name listed. Press this to connect.
v1.8 of TouchOSC comes with this layout pre-installed. To load it go to Settings > Layout and select the Jog On layout from the list.
Open Traktor, go to ‘Preferences’, then ‘Controller Manager’. Click the large ‘Import’ button at the bottom of this screen and browse for the TSI file. Ensure that In-Port and Out-Port on this screen are set to TouchOSC Bridge.
Usage:
Note that commands shown in yellow are activated by holding down Shift. Commands shown in red are activated when in Browse Mode.

The Spinback function does not work properly with the latest versions of Traktor (2.1.1+). This is due to a change in Traktor. Currently, the Spin button performs a very short (1 second) backspin.

Looks good
may rob the jog wheels for my own mapping and post the files
Very good Template. Best I’ve ever seen.
But one thing. A use it with an Alesis IO Dock. With this Dockingstation i connect the IPAD via Midi cable with the input of my soundcard (NI Audio 8 DJ). So i don’t have to use WIFI. My Problem: the Layout of the Template ist Upside down. Is there any command to turn it, because the dock is like a pult, so there is really only one real direction for the layout. Thanks for any help. Michael
Not while the template is loaded in TouchOSC, no, but you can rotate the view when you’re in the Options screen on TouchOSC. Just get it the right way up for you first here, then press Done.
Looks good may rob the jog wheels for my own mapping and post the files
Hey great work, just about everything I need to run traktor. However, the jog wheels don’t seem to work. They are there on the template and spin around and they will scroll through tracks in browse menu, but they won’t scroll through the loaded track. I mean, aren’t you supposed to be able to scratch and scroll through a track with the jog wheels?
What am I missing?
Thanks!
Yes, you should be able to scroll through the loaded track (when it’s stopped) with the jog wheels. Pressing Shift should also scroll through the tracks more quickly. Which version of Traktor are you using?
Hi thanks for getting back to me.
It is Ver 2.0.1, I’ll try updating and see if it works. Also, the FX controls for deck B don’t control deck B, but instead control the FX on deck A (FX unit 1). I’ll try an upadate and let you know how it goes.
Happy New Year.
OK, I’ve updated to Trakor 2.1.2 and transfered
the latest template to my ipad. (it is Traktor duo, not Traktor pro if that makes a difference?)
These are the issues:
1) neither jog wheel will scroll through the tracks.
2)the sliders and buttons on FX unit 1 are linked to thoes on FX unit 2, meaning that any movements to fx unit 1 is mirrored by fx unit 2, or vice versa.
3) the stop button on deck A/B won’t stop the track but instead turns on fx 3 on both fx units and moves their sliders all the way up.
The stop button on deck C/D doesn’t do anything.
4) pushing the shift button has this affect: it moves both of the WET sliders all the way up and moves the Filter sliders to middle if they are not in middle.
I may try editing the midi myself in Traktor and see what I can do.
1. Not sure about this. You should be able to press “browse” (which will make the track selection screen larger) and scroll through tracks.
2. Yeah, this shouldn’t be happening.
3. Traktor Duo doesn’t have the Turntable FX effect required for this function.
4. This shouldn’t be happening either.
I haven’t tested on Duo, but I suspect most of the problems are due to not using Traktor Pro. You may well need to remap some of the controls for it to work on Duo.
tested it out and really like it
the loop mode is actually amazing, very creative,
A few things I would probly change would be to add numbers on the cue buttons, a few times I had to look around and quickly count.
the effects modes on either side didnt work for me including a chained effect and a full effect altough that may have just been down to my settings
other then that its perfect
only thing would be the number but people will probly add these themselves if it bothers them that much
11 out of 10 just for the loop menu alone
oh and the stop button didnt work on mine on either side
Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated
If you load it using the large Import button, it should override any previous settings you had for effects (which is why they aren’t working, I suspect). The template relies on all 4 FX units being set to chained.
Also, pressing the ‘Shift’ button should load the TTFX which will make the ‘Stop’ button work.
I’m probably just Traktor/TouchOSC ignorant but could explain what you mean by:
1. “load it using the large Import button”
2. “pressing the ‘Shift’ button should load the TTFX”
Looking for what app and what screen are talking about for each.
Thanks!
1. Open Traktor > Preferences. Near the bottom of this screen is an ‘Import’ button. Click this and browse to the TSI file that’s included in the download.
2. This refers to the ‘Shift’ button on the template itself. Once it’s connected and you’re ready to go, pressing the ‘Shift’ button will load the FX.
wow, this is the good one! hey andrew, may i get a download link for this mapping, it’s like an usual, i can’t download from this forum. would you email me for this link? thanks
No problenm, Nara. Email sent
i cant seem to download from the link either, would you mind sending me a link aswell?
email sent
Hey, would it be possible to get the file by email as well ? for some reason I can’t download the file… Thank you for an amazing work ! Cheers, mat.
Great mapping, it’s the one i’ve been waiting for
but the jog wheels don’t work
Hmm. They should do… Can you provide any more details?
once loaded on my ipad 2 everything worked fine apart from the jog wheels. In the blue n green boxes there is the expand and load buttons the cue, mash and slice lights but the jog wheels seem to be missing also the beat indicator and track end warning light work fine.
I’ll try redownloading the tsi file and reload that on my ipad
As they’re completely missing, I’m guessing that you haven’t updated TouchOSC Editor when loading the template. You need to be on v1.5.3.
…and v1.7.3 on TouchOSC itself
Oo so thats why, Ill take your word for it, have a few mappings I dont want loosing for my other controllers so ill leave it be
, just had to test it out though since I was curious, might try do my own version of the ifighter since theres a few features I dont use and might add samples for it
Everything works awesome… Thanx. But there is problem with indication of FX/EQ button.
Can you explain a little more? The LED should light when you press the EQ button and give you control over EQ levels. Does this not happen?
Yes it does.. But there is two leds on button… And only one is working, after pressing the button left led is on… And when I’m pressing the button again booth of them is off… I thought that the points of two leds is for indication of FX, and second EQ. Correct me if I’m wrong. And another one. Make copy/paste for load and expand buttons on the right side they’re not respond cause its encoder controller above.
The other one turns on and off when you’re on the 2nd page so that you have control over EQ for Decks C & D.
So one LED is for Deck A & B and the other for Decks C & D. When they’re both off, you are in control of the FX amounts.
Not sure what you mean about the load / expand buttons…
simple… you have the jog wheel, encoder above those buttons.
Ah yes, I see what you mean now. Thanks for pointing this out.
I’ve fixed this and re-uploaded the template. You just need to refresh the page and download the template again.
that’s beautiful. can you do a TOUCHOSC for iphone version?
I’ve been thinking about it, but there’s just a problem with screen space. It would need to be stripped down, or spread across several pages (which defeats the object somewhat!)
If I were to do a stripped-down version for the iPhone, what features would you like to see?
id like to mix without having to be tied down behind the laptop! basic mixing (the dicey is awesome), a start/stop and a browser that displays the tracks is what id really like to see.
Unfortunately, it’s not possible for Traktor to output track names (although I’d love this feature too!)
I’m working on something for Konkreet Performer next, but after that I’ll be doing something new with the iPhone.
I love your temple but some reason I dont have the jog wheels on the temple. I redown load the temple from digitaldjtools website. Still no jog wheel. I have a TRAKTOR PRO 2. please help I will like to have the temple would the jog wheels. Thank U George Sanchez
Are you using the latest versions of TouchOSC (1.7.3) and TouchOSC Editor (1.5.3)? If you’re not using the latest versions, the jog wheels won’t display.
Thank for the info. I had touchOSC EDITOR 1.5.2. I upgrate and I see the jog wheel. Thank you…
Simply awesome. Had a good play with it last night.
One feature request, it would be great if SHIFT + JOG WHEEL could do a fast scrub in play mode. This would be much more intuitive than using the loop position buttons…
Thank you!
Good idea! I’ve just updated the TSI to include this, so holding Shift and moving the jog wheel will now speed the track forward / back. Is this the kind of thing you meant?
You’ll just need to download the .zip file again and re-import the TSI in Traktor to get it working.
Awesome — doing so now!
Started to mess around in TouchOSC — glad I decided to just be patient…
Just let me know if you think it needs any adjustments.
If you want to play around with the speed settings yourself though, this is quite easy to do.
In Traktor open Preferences > Controller Manager, scroll down the very near the bottom of the Assignment Table and look for the ‘Jog Scratch & Tempo’ commands. There should be four of these (2 for Deck A and 2 for Deck B). Just play around with the ‘Rotary Sensitivity’ slider (the one that’s currently set to 54%) to change the speed of the jog wheel to your liking.
Perfect. Works a treat.
Very nice work
im having problems with connecting my ipad to my laptop through “audio MIDI Setup” when i choose my ipad the connect button is grayed out? any help?
Have you been through the setup instructions here?: http://hexler.net/docs/touchosc-setup-coremidi-network
Above the “directory” box, add a session. this should solve your problem…
Great work! Almost all working fine…
Just one thing: I can’t reach de FX units 1 and 2!! I just can operate FX units 3 and 4, even changing the page (A/B to C/D) =( Any clue about it!? ThanX
FX Units 1 & 2 are ‘fixed’ and cannot be changed through the template as these are set to control the Beatmasher & Beatslicer effects for each deck.
Got it, thank you.
An option, could be in switch the fixed FX units to 3 and 4, so it can be hidden on the effects layout, giving space to the expanded version of FX units 1 and 2, or not?
Ah right, I see what you mean. Yes this is possible, but not without a good deal of re-mapping. I’ll certainly consider this for the next update though.
Amazing! propably the best solution out there!
TouchOSC Rulez! THxalot!
Cheers! Yep, TouchOSC is the best use ever of £2.99! Probably the greatest app ever invented
This looks wicked! Man, can’t wait to download this and try it out! Just showed mad love to digitaldjtools.net on my radio show tonight (Monday) check out my forum post.

Hey DIGI, Please can you help me with the sync button. When I active the sync it matches each deck but as soon as I take off the sync it rest my tempo. I would like the sync button to keep the bpm but not change/reset when i hit sync off. This will allow me to cue to my tracks to my own timing but keep the bpm the same.
I hope you understand what i’m trying to
say??? Please HELP!!!!
I’m not 100% sure about this and I’m away from my studio so I can’t check on Traktor right now, but I think this depends on what is set to ‘Master’ in your setup. Sounds like you may have Traktor’s clock set to Master rather than one of the decks. I think you’d need to manually select one of the decks as Master instead.
Brilliant. Everything easy to access and good workflow. Big thanks to the uploader, this must have taken quite a while to make.
For everyone having problems make sure you have updated BOTH TouchOSC and the editor before you upload the template to your ipad. Also import the .tsi from the bottom of the controller preferences page so you can import the GUI layout and settings in addition to just the controller mapping.
yesterday i tested the template and found it very good.
but today it simply does not connect on the audio midi setup window and says something like this
192.168.1.73:5004 didn’t respond to the connection request. Check the address and port, and any firewall or router settings. (16:45:43)
need some help here
thanks
hey, have you solved this issue?
i’m having the same problem with my iPad2, while it works fine on my iPhone3gs
you are the best !
Thank you for the templates and the smart guide to install everything, it finally worked ! I didnt found anything on the web to make it happen now it works following your advice step by step.

This layout gave me the idea to map the pads on my Maschine to use for beatmasher and slicer FX the same way. I don’t need modifiers because I’m going to dedicate each pad to only one function. I am having trouble mapping it so that it is just a trigger. When I hit the pad it turns the effect on but does not turn off when I release the pad. I’ve looked at the setting in Traktor from your .tsi but I can’t see where I have it wrong. Any help?
Make sure the command’s ‘Interaction Mode’ (in this case it would be Effect X On) is set to ‘Hold’ rather that ‘Direct’ or ‘Toggle’.
If you’ve already set this as ‘Hold’ but it still won’t turn off, this is a bug in Traktor which doesn’t seem to save the interaction mode settings properly. To fix this, set the interaction mode back to ‘Direct’ with a value of 0. Press the button on your Maschine and the effect should turn off. Then set it back again to ‘Hold’ and it should work as it’s meant to.
Thank you!!!!
I will give this a go tonight.
Loving the mapping. How can I change length of spin back? I tried to change the -6.800 in the tis but it didn’t do anything.
Thanks
You just need to change this amount and the speed / length of the spinback should change with it. Silly question, but are you sure you changed it for the right deck?
Its so difficult for me to find all the mappings on Traktor and adding/learning. How long is this suppose to take?
There’s a really useful guide here to all the mappings and their names: http://www.traktorbible.com/en/t2_commandfinder.aspx
is greatt man !
Thank you!
Great template, i have two issues the jog wheels do not work for scratching and the end of track warning led does not work either, i have the latest versions of touchosc and osc editor.
1.7.4 and 1.5.4
please help
It definitely works with the latest updates. The track needs to be stopped for the decks to work in scratch mode (it’ll work as pitch bend when the track is playing).
There does seem to be a problem with the track end warning though. I’m not seeing this either. However, I’m not seeing the warning in Traktor either. Normally the whole track will flash when it’s about to end, but it’s doing nothing at the moment. The mapping hasn’t changed and it’s still mapped properly to the ‘Track End Warning’ function, so not sure what the problem is here I’m afraid.
Just been checking on the Track End Warning and it looks like it’s a bug with the new Traktor update (2.1.1). See: http://traktorbible.com/articles/problems-in-traktor-211.aspx
Track End Warning fixed in Traktor v2.1.2. The LED now works again.
i don’t know how to conect the ipad to traktor.
1ºI synced the template to ipad.
2ºI conected the ipad to wifi by router.
I configurate touchOSC (in the ipad)
-Host 192.168.0.192
-Port outgoing 9000
-Port incoming 8000…etc.
3ºI downloaded, installed, and tryed to configure the rtpMIDI but i don’t know how to do it. I press + in my sesions camp then i rename it to iPad but my ipad 2 doesn’t appear into Directory then i cant press into connect.
Thanks i hope a reply.
Sounds like you’re trying to connect via OSC instead of CoreMIDI. You shouldn’t need to change the Host/ Port settings at all. Ensure that CoreMID is turned on. If your iPad and computer are connected to the same network they should ‘see’ each other.
Ok then i turned off the MIDI Mobilizer and the CoreMIDI, my configuration OSC is:
-Host 192.168.0.192
-Port outgoing 9000
-Port incoming 8000
-Local ip addres 192.168.0.195
-Layout jog-on.
-All the options are turned off.
In the rptMIDI I press + in my sesions camp then I rename it to iPad and finally i added my iPad manually I called it iPad and I put 192.168.0.192:9000 and I conect it now it appears in participants but after importing TSI file the ctrl led doesn’t turns on when i move on the ipad.(it turns on for a second when i select in out port all)
Please explais slow sep by step becaus e i’m really new.(altought i have installed midi yoke and pure data)
Turn off OSC and turn on CoreMIDI. You need to connect through CoreMIDI for it to work. You should then see your device in rtpMIDI.
Also, ensure that you have Bonjour Services installed.
If you need further info, check: http://digitaldjtools.net/forum/digital-dj-tools-forum-group2/template-support-forum2/cant-get-a-template-to-work-check-here-first-thread12/
Thanks for the quick reply, You rock!
(I was trying to scratch with the decks playing)
No worries
Imo, the pitchbend function sucks. It isn’t even near to the functionality of a CDJ.
Otherwise, great mapping.
Hello, a thousand and one thanks to this amazing mapping!
There is two question I still have.
How can i control the pitch?
Is it possible to define the jog wheel speed?
Many thanks,
Regards,
Benoit
The only pitch control is the pitch bend (jog wheel while the track is playing).
To change the jog wheel speed, look for the command ‘Jog Scratch Tempo Bend’ (now renamed to ‘Jog Turn’ in Traktor v 2.1.1) and change the ‘Rotary Sensitivity’ setting from 11% to whatever you like. There are 2 speeds set at the moment (holding shift while moving the jog wheel to move through the track quickly).
Any way I can get an email with the download link here? Can’t seem to get it form here even though I’m logged into word press…
Please help. Want to use this tomorrow for a gig.

Hi digitaldjtools, the download link for Jog On doesn’t work. Could you email me the link to casewoo@gmail.com please? Cheers!
No problem. Email sent
Thanks Andrew, for a brilliant controller template. It is absolutely fantastic!
On the very last part of the windows install it says “BOTH of these templates.” What does it mean both of the templates? Im not really sure what that means or how to find the other template. Im pretty sure this is what is hanging me up right now so any help is appreciated.
Sorry for any confusion caused here. There’s only one template that loads now, not two, since I updated the template last. Sorry, I forgot to update the instructions accordingly.
Love the mapping only the jog wheels don’t work for me (although I see them!). They work for browsing but not for scratch/tempo bend.
I am using osc editor 1.5.4, TouchOSC and Traktor Pro 2.0.3.
I don’t even see jog settings in the controller manager. Is me tractor version out of date?
Also, how do you switch between scratch and tempo bend (e.g. like pressing the scratch button on a USB controller such as the mix track pro)
Thanks
I meant Touch OSC 1.7.4, forgot to list the version!
The jog wheels will only work for pitch bend when the track is playing. When the track is stopped, they work for scratch / scrub. There isn’t a ‘scratch’ button included as I had problems with this.
In the most recent version of Traktor (2.1.1 I think), they’re called ‘Jog Turn’ in the Assignment Table. In older versions they’re called ‘Jog Scratch & Tempo Bend’.
Thanks for the speedy reply!
Jog wheels not working as you describe. They don’t do anything either with the track stopped or pitch bend when playing, although they work fine in the browser. I don’t see anything assigned to Jog Scratch & Tempo Bend (or jog turn) in the assignments. I guess I may have to add them myself if I can figure it out.
Additionally, as other users seem to have mentioned earlier, for me the stop button doesn’t work (instead turns on and off the third FX in FX1 and spin also doesn’t work. This is even after I have already pressed the shift button.
Any ideas for my problems? I wonder if it is to do with me using an older version of tractor 2.0.3. Perhaps you have an older version of the tsi file I could try?
Cheers
I don’t tend to keep earlier versions Im afraid, so you’ll probably need to re-map these.
To remap the Stop button, look for ‘Effect Select 3′ in the Assignment Table, there should be 4 of these. Change the ones for FX Bank 1 and FX Bank 2 to TTFX.
To remap the jog wheels, this is a little tricker as you need to include Modifiers…
Add 4 instances of the ‘Jog Scratch Tempo Bend’ command (click ‘Add In’ and you should find the command in the ‘Transport’ menu). Assign 2 of these to Deck A and the other 2 to Deck B. I’ve done 4 screengrabs which you can download here: http://digitaldjtools.net/downloads/jog_settings.zip – just copy the settings shown and it should work.
This all worked perfectly, thanks!
What should I map the spin(back) button as?
Cheers
For spinback, assign the button to the command ‘Scratch’. Type of controller: button. Interaction mode: direct. Set to Value: -6.8
Looks like the spinback button is now broken since the Traktor 2.1.1 update. It’s meant to spin back for as long as you hold the button, but it’s only doing a very short backspin. Hoping NI will fix this.
First, all of your help in the comment thread and this great layout has been awesome. I really appreciate it.
I’m having issues though when I add the “Jog Scratch & Tempo Bend” commands. I’m not sure how to do the device mapping commands/channels. Any advice?
Thank you very much. The website, templates and tutorial are very clear and simple to use. Just follow the steps on this page.
My only misstep was the version of traktor. Make sure you have updated to 2.1.1
The template takes advantage of the new features in traktor with its central on the fly loop as well as the sampling decks.
I only added a couple of global value knobs like global BPM and customized buttons for a few features I always use, but that’s why we are using touchosc anyway.
Incredibly usefull, concise and clear.
Thank you
Thanks! Much appreciated
Juat like to thankyou for this awesome template and the support is amazing. I’veonly JUST got into digital DJing and as I couldn’t get ableton live working with TouchOSC you seem to have the guns
Its also much easier to setup.
In regards to interface, I’ll have to actually learn to use it first…but I was wondering if you can use an ipad AND an iphone version of touchOSC to interact with the one copy of Traktor? it would be pretty cool to have the iphone as a file browser with the ipad as the DJ device etc. or a number of other interesting setups.
In truth I have high hopes of using Traktor/TouchOSCand Touch Dessigner for a DJ /VJ setup…so I’m still learning the ropes with thelimitations of each of the programs.
Either way, thanks again andkeep up the great work!!
Thanks man!
I can’t believe I’ve never actually tried this, but yes, you should be able to use both devices at once. Just make sure they’re using different MIDI channels and you should be fine.
Good luck with your VJ / DJ endeavours!
In THAT case have I got some plans for you! Although I do needto tinker around a bit first and see where I’m going with my ideas…
However, as a summary I’m looking at the jogon template with a bit more mashy v2.0 with an extra tab for making your own music like the guitar thingy I saw previously…but with more notes if possible.
So tab 1 for mashing and cueing, with a 2×4 sample decks for loops on the go. Tab 2 for a hard core sample/loop and instrument toolkit and Tab 3 for loading in ALL samples, tracks and instrument information.
Basically you one stop shop for performance interface sort of thing…
I’ll be playing around with all the elements you have in place already and see what input I can throw your way and you can take it or leave it of course…I’m just really excited with the potential of all this stuff!
I’ll be looking into the customise ability of the interface itself with TouchOSC…as much as the led style is useful, personally it’d be great if I can design my own interface art
I’ll keep you posted with progress on the dual input device!
ok…already playing around with the apps and I’m getting some promising results.
I can control objects in Touchdesigner with TouchOSC while rtpMIDI is going, so I assume I can therefore map some stuff to that (accelerometer at least) while using the Jogon template as a test.
I did get an iphone version AND the iPad version connected to rtpmidi…althoguh I think I will haveto play around with the settings considerably in traktor to make sure each version of TouchOSC is interacting with the things I want it to…I’ll need to play around some more with the preferences and settings on all levels and apps before I get more confident with that.
What I’ll probabbly have to end up doing is learn how to map my own TouchOSC files… do you happen to have any good tutorial sites for custom configurations with traktor to the degree that you have? I’ll probably be using your awesome templates as a base for many aspects then adding the tweaks to those.
May the Discmage Empire begin!
Having everything all on one template is a really nice idea. One thing I’d watch though is placing too much strain on TouchOSC / Traktor. I remember when I was making the Jog On template, I tried adding volume metre LEDs and the whole thing started to slow down and buttons became much less responsive (for things like hotcues, beatmashing etc.). I’m guessing this is because of either the size of the Traktor TSI or the sheer amount of MIDI messages all being transmitted at once.
My advice is to keep checking things are working OK as your going along. Could save a lot of frustration in the long run.
I like the idea of what you’re trying to do though and if I can be any help along the way, please feel free to email me (digitaldjtools@gmail.com)
i am not able to download the file.
Email sent.
My iPad doesn’t appear in the directory pan of midi network. When I press+ a box appears. What do I put in the Host pane??
Please help
You shouldn’t need to enter anything here manually. As long as your iPad and computer are both on the same network, it should just appear in the ‘Directory’ list. Check the forum for a step by step checklist.
Hi digitaldjtools,
your template is simply the best out there (and is totally free, lovely!)! And you actually taught me a thing of two about traktor
I modified the layout just a little, I like the browse/preview function of the S4 (but I don’t like to juggle it around!)so I added a preview load/unload (with led), set the left jog to scroll thru the preview (if the latter is playing, with modifier M6) and the left fader (the filter during play) to scroll thru the tree (added the M4 condition to your settings for Ch1.CC25). Oh and replaced the eq kills with rotaries, I have small fingers!
Not sure if the embedding works
preview
Let me know if you want my files, I’m sure you can make them waaaay better
ciao
Loving the additions!
It’s brilliant to see what you’ve done to extend the functionality and it’s always interesting to see how people modify my original to suit their own style.
If you’re happy to share your remixed version, that would be great too. You could either post it here: or if you’d like to send me the files (to digitaldjtools@gmail.com, I can host the template here and share it for you on your behalf if you like?
Nice work!
Sorry, forgot to include the link: http://digitaldjtools.net/forum/digital-dj-tools-forum-group2/shared-mappings-forum3/
Thanks man! I really liked the browse/preview of the S4, but couldn’t figure out how NI did it since those are not standard mappings, S4 uses its own proprietary protocol.
I did my first gig yesterday (tech-house) with only my ipad and my macbook! Everything went fine, but I had to remove the spin buttons on the fly (quickly reuploaded a modified osc template) after I touch them twice inadvertently
and my small rotaries for the EQ are not really working – too small and too close to the faders, I had to be extra careful to avoid loss of volume..
so let me work out a few things (I have another gig next weekend) and I’ll send it! I love the face of the people who looked over the dj booth and saw only me , my laptop and my iPad
Hello,
Tried on iE and Chrome, no luck.. Could you please advise? Great site by the way, hopefully will be posting new templates soon
D
I ve registered and still no dl link available
Are you on Mac or PC?
Yo man! Congrats for this amazing template! One of the best I’ve ever seen
still i could NOT make the jogwheel work, only in browser mode. What am i doing wrong ??
Thanks in advance
Thank you!
Are you using the latest versions of everything?
Jogwheel should move the track back / forwards ONLY when deck is stopped. When playing it controls pitch bend.
-TouchOSC ver 1.7.4
-TouchOSC Editor 1.5.4
on MacOS Lion
Still i did not get it working, not even if it is stopped or playing.. i tried by global importing the provided tai file but it was worthless
It’s strange that it’s just the one command that’s not working. Do still you get the blue CTRL light when using the jogwheel, even though nothing else happens?
Hi mate, check your e-mail, its a small present for you !
Thankyou!
hola, hice todo, en mi ipad se cargo bien, pero no logro hacer que funcione en el traktor.
Have you run through everything on this checklist: http://digitaldjtools.net/forum/digital-dj-tools-forum-group2/template-support-forum2/cant-get-a-template-to-work-check-here-first-thread12/
tengo otros layouts que andan bien, el problema esta con el .TSI. no responde en la pc
thx
can I get the files please?
Yes, no problem. Email sent
Hi digitaltools, amazing work. Thanks for the time you spent on developing this template and sharing it, for free.
Maybe this question was answered earlier, but I did not find an answer in the comments:
Is it possible to control the tempo/pitch of deck A/B with your template?
regards
ulf
Thank you!
There’s no direct pitch control on this template I’m afraid, although there’s a pitch bend function on the jog wheels.
The Mashy 2 template may be more suited to you if you’re looking for a standard pitch control: http://digitaldjtools.net/news/touchosc-traktor-2-template-for-ipad-mashy-v2/
I installed this today and the FX aren’t working and the stop button seems to reverse. Is it because of the touchosc update?
It should work fine with the new TouchOSC update.
For the stop button, make sure that the third FX slots on FX Units 1 and 3 are showing ‘TTFX’. This effect should be loaded automatically after tapping the Shift key. The stop effect will only work once the track has been playing for a few seconds.
You may find that this fixes your other issue with effects. If not, can you provide any more details about this?
I have the same issue, but also the stop button toggles FX 3 to on. This is will updated touchosc, and the .tsi mappings on the Hexler website.
Yes, it’s been designed that way. The Stop button is *supposed* to toggle FX 3 (Unit 1 / 2) on / off.
Make sure you press the Shift key to load TTFX into FX 3. Pressing Stop on its own activates TTFX and brings the track to a stop quickly (much like pressing the ‘Start/Stop’ button on a record deck). Pressing Shift and Stop will bring the track to a stop slowly, like a ‘wind down’ effect.
In both cases, you need to press the Stop button again to allow the track to play.
Hi there. Fantastic mapping and interface. I tried something like this last year myself but was too annoying and time consuming,…..
One question, is it me or is there no option to slow down or speed up the tracks to a set tempo. When I synch a track and want to gradually speed up there doesn’t seem to be an option for this, only thing missing. I’m sure it’s just a simple matter of mapping one of the unused sliders in shift mode. What do you think
No, you’re right. The only tempo control at the moment is the pitch bend on the jog wheel, but there’s no way of gradually speeding your track up.
You’d need it to be a slider that starts in the middle position, so you could swap gain (shift & filter) for tempo control if you liked.
Thanks for the brilliant template – It’s a pure joy to use it.
However, I also can not get the jog wheels to work – I can not scratch while the track is stopped and it does not change the tempo while the track is playing.
The blue CTRL led in Traktor is blinking when i turn the jog.
I run the latest versions of everything:
Traktor Pro 1.2.6
Touch OSC 1.8
Touc OSC editor 1.5.4
Every product is bought and licensed.
Hope you can help…
I haven’t tested on Traktor 1, just Traktor 2. You may need to upgrade to v2.
Or you could re-map the jog wheel in Preferences > Controller Manager
Ok, will try to install the Traktor 2 and will let you know if it worked. Thanks for a quick reply!
Installed Traktor 2 – everything works like a charm! Thanks again – can I make donations someway except PayPal? – it’s notavailable where I live currently.
Excellent! Pleased to hear you got it working.
It’s PayPal only for donations, but thanks anyway.
Hey
I’ve tried to get this working for a good few hours now but still no luck. I’ll go through my settings and what i’ve done and hopefully you could help me
I’m connected on the same wifi as my pc.
I have loaded the layout
I have loaded Touchosc Bridge
OSC is enabled
host ip: 2.99.68.24
port outgoing: 8000
Port incoming: 9000
Local IP address: 192.168.0.16
In MIDI Bridge it finds my PC fine
MIDI Mobilizer: says “status: Not connected”
Core MIDI: In(0/0) Out(0/0)
Core MIDI enabled
No Inputs or outputs
These are literally all of my settings, I’ve gone on rtpMIDI and have created a session, but i don’t know what to do from there.
If you could help, i would be really grateful!
Thanks!
Make sure you’re using Traktor Pro v2.1.2
If you’re connecting through a router, try an ad-hoc connection instead.
You don’t need OSC turned on (just MIDI Bridge), but this shouldn’t really matter.
Make sure you’ve selected TouchOSC Bridge in the Port In and Port Out settings in Traktor’s Controller Manager.
You don’t need to use rtpMIDI if you’re using TouchOSC Bridge.
Hey man, Thanks for your reply,
I’ve tried the hotspot from my pc but still not luck.. i still get CoreMIDI:In(0/0) Out(0/0). How would an old traktor version not allow me to connect the ipad to the pc?
Yes, you will get 0/0 if you’re using TouchOSC Bridge as you don’t need to use the CoreMIDI feature.
Using an older version of Traktor won’t affect the connection between your iPad and PC, no, but the template itself may not work on older versions of Traktor.
Are you getting a blue CTRL light in Traktor when you press buttons on the template?
You mentioned that you loaded the layout. Did you do this through TouchOSC Editor? If so then you’re getting a connection with your iPad and PC.
Can you confirm that you’re using the right ports in Traktor?
Hey
Im using traktor pro 2.1.2 but still no joy
Are you getting a blue CTRL light in Traktor when you press buttons on the template?
You mentioned that you loaded the layout. Did you do this through TouchOSC Editor? If so then you’re getting a connection with your iPad and PC.
Can you confirm that you’re using the right ports in Traktor?
Im getting no ctrl light and its loaded through touch osc. i had a problem with a little midi controller that stopped working on traktor( but works on everything else) although i freshly installed traktor and set it all up again…
OK, with no CTRL light we can rule out the template that’s at fault. The problem is with the connection somewhere alone the line.
Can you upload templates to your iPad through TouchOSC Editor?
@thesmartpenguin – Sorry, I can’t reply directly to your comment – hope you see this!
In newer versions of Traktor (2.1.1+), the ‘Jog Scratch Tempo Bend’ command has changed it’s name to Jog Turn. For a jog wheel, you need to map ‘Jog Touch’ and ‘Jog Turn’ to it for it to work.
BTW, and this is a message for all users, the comments section is getting a bit messy. Please post to the forum with any support requests: http://digitaldjtools.net/forum/ – It’s much easier to keep track of!
awesome : )
hello,
I’ve done everything (well) ’til the the DigitalDJTools_Jog-On.tsi import via Traktor control manager that doesn’t work.
I have noticed that DigitalDJTools_Jog-On.tsi file is an KML final cut file !!!!
and not an Unix executable file like I’ve seen on a few templates
I guess that’s why I can’t import this mapping??
thanx
It’s most definitely a .TSI and you shouldn’t have any problems importing it into Traktor.
I’d suggest downloading it again. If you’re still having trouble, email me at digitaldjtools@gmail.com and I’ll email it to you directly.
Can’t find the template?
Once you’re logged in, you should see a download box appear under ‘Download’, then directly underneath the ‘register | log in’ links.
Javascript needs to be enabled in your browser to be able to see the link.
If you’re still having trouble, please email me at digitaldjtools@gmail.com and I’ll email you the file.
Can I get this to work with traktor 2.0.3?? Thanks?
Half of the interface works.. Mmm???
It should work OK. You may have problems with the jog controls though.
What exactly is / isn’t working for you?
Jog wheels. Don’t work. Pitch buttons no work. Deck’s 3 and 4 no work. Cross fader no work.. Volume faders not working Mmm.. It would be the best app if these things worked for me.. Love the idea.. Wicked.. I got this for ableton live so its not a big issue but i saw this and have been using Expensive Midi controllers for a few years. This would of kill it altho.. Thanks for the reply.
There’s no reason they shouldn’t be working. Are you using Traktor in Internal Mixer mode?
I’m experiencing the same problem!!! Can you PLEASE provide help?
I bought the program for my iPad and need it as soon as posible!
Are you using the latest version of Traktor? Have you checked everything here: http://digitaldjtools.net/forum/digital-dj-tools-forum-group2/template-support-forum2/cant-get-a-template-to-work-check-here-first-thread12/
Hello again! I’ve just tried this template and I like it very much! The only problem is that the jog-weel doesn’t work! It’s quite a big problem because is necessary to find the good cue point. I’ve tried to mapping it but I didn’t manage. How can I get thru?
Jog wheels won’t work if you’re using a Traktor version prior to v2.1.1. Are you using the latest version?
Uh ok, yeah I think I’m still using 2.0.3
Hey guys, iv got most of this working, how ever the FX controls just do not work for me.
Example, I can control the EQ with the top sliders when the EQ button is on, but when I uncheck the EQ button they do nothing.
The only way I can get effects to work is to switch to MASH mode and then press the cue buttons, which seems confusing to me.
Is there some trick to getting the top sliders to actually work with effects?
You shouldn’t need to switch to Mash mode to enable to top row of effects, no. Turning the EQ off (so that the LED is unlit) automatically enables the effects controls for the sliders.
Make sure the appropriate ‘FX Unit On’ buttons are activated:
http://digitaldjtools.net/wp-content/uploads/fxunit1.png
Its just not working for me. Everything else does.
See this image, this is im moving the sliders, and the FX units are on in traktor, but nothing.
Turning the effects units on and off in TouchOSC does nothing on screen within Traktor. Its like none fo the FX related controls are hooked up.
http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/4864/traktoripad.png
Can I confirm that this template works with Traktor Pro 2.1.2 ?
Im out of ideas here. Is there an updated file I need to load into Traktor or something?
Yes, it definitely works with v2.1.2. Strange that only certain FX functions seem to be working for you though. No updated file to load either. It should work fine with the download supplied on this page.
Just to clarify…
When you move the effects sliders and turn each effect on/off, these are changing in Traktor?
But when you turn the FX Units on/off on the iPad, these are not responding in Traktor?
Do you have all effect units turned on in Traktor Preferences > Effects – Set to 4 FX Units (all set to Single)?
Could you post a pic of your main Traktor screen?
Hi, thanks for the quick replies.
Yes thats correct, I can use the effects if I use the track pad on my laptop. How ever moving the sliders on the iPad does nothing.
Even the toggle buttons do nothing when pressing on the iPad. It seems the whole effects section is not hooked up.
Moving them manually in traktor shows no movement on the iPad either so its not a SEND/RECV thing.
Moving the sliders on the iPad does light up the CTRL light though .. so MIDI is being sent, just not to the correct control.
Yes using single mode
here’s my screen shot
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/4924/screenshot20120305at103.png
It looks like you only have 2 FX Units actually enabled in Traktor, which would explain why the controls are doing nothing.
Go to Traktor Preferences > Effects and make sure that ’4 FX Units’ is ticked.
Sorry, in my last post I said these should be set to ‘Single’. These need to all be set to ‘Group’.
That’s an expert asnwer to an interesting question
Aha .. Now we’re getting somewhere. Effect units 3 and 4 now work. (1 and 2 dont seem to do anything, is that correct?) Either way, I can use FX now
I do have one more small problem. I reloaded the TSI file into traktor in hope it might fix the previous problem. All the controls still wok, but none of the buttons show a lit or unlit marker.
Ie, I press the EQ button and nothing happens, how ever it does still toggle the EQ on and off , but there is no lit indicator on the ipad. Is there someway to reset this?
This happens for all toggle buttons, stop, sync, FX on etc
FX Units 1 & 2 are set permanently to Beatmasher, Slicer and Turntable FX and are used by the Mash / Slice modes and the ‘Stop’ button.
Sounds like you’re not receiving MIDI Out messages from Traktor. In Preferences > Controller Manager make sure that the Out Port is set to TouchOSC Bridge (or whatever you’re using to connect your iPad & computer).
Sorry about the late reply. That seems to have fixed it now. Now, to try and use it in a live scenario
Thanks for all your help! Great support
No problem. Glad it’s all working for you now.
The same for me i use a clean licensed and registered Traktor Pro 2.6.0 and everything work like a charm but fx sliders don’t….
Also activated the 4 fx units and i got it fixed for units 3-4 but still don’t able to control fx 1-2 (getting the midi signal with blue dot but sliders don’t move) thanks in advance
If you’re getting the blue CTRL light but the sliders don’t move, it sounds like the slider in TouchOSC is somehow unmapped to the slider in Traktor. Open the template in TouchOSC Editor and check that the sliders are mapped to CCs 54, 55, 56, 65, 66 & 67. Check also that the same CCs are mapped to Knob 1, Knob 2 & Knob 3 on FX Units 3 & 4.
Do the sliders work for the EQ?
DigitalDJTools – love the mapping…makes me wonder why I dropped hundred on the s4…well, almost…the s4 is a beast…
having problems getting the job wheels to work…still running 2.0.1 – also some effects on deck A don’t work…any thoughts.
thanks again!
Thank you! Glad you like the mapping
Yeah, they’ll only work with 2.1.1 and above. Same goes for the effects. It’s because the names of the parameters have changed after v2.0.1 (and extra effects have been added too). Just upgrade through the Service Centre and everything should work fine.
Great – I’ll give that a shot. Thanks for the quick reply, as always…
No problem
I’m at a complete loss. TouchOSC Bridge has been a huge catastrophe so far
I had things working under rtpmidi(granted slow) but now TouchOSC Bridge isn’t working at all.
I’m using Traktor Pro v2.1.3 and TouchOSC(iPad) v1.8.1
I’ve been trying to get the iFighter mapping as well as JogOn to work with no success. And upon trying to upload JogOn it seems my iPad isn’t even finding the TouchOSC Editor as a host, so I think the problem lies between my windows machine and TouchOSC Bridge. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I really need this to work.
Cheers!
First thing to check is that you’ve enabled MIDI Bridge in TouchOSC settings on your iPad. I usually have everything else (OSC, MIDI Mobilizer and CoreMIDI) turned off but this shouldn’t really matter.
Make sure you’re using the latest version of TouchOSC Bridge or try re-installing if you already have the latest version.
Beyond this, I can’t really be of much help, I’m afraid. If you’re still having trouble, you’re best posting your problem on the official TouchOSC Support Forums: http://hexler.net/forum/viewforum/3/
OK for some unknown reasons Jog-On on my iPad is very very mixed up. Some small examples are the stop button on deck B flashes in time to deck A beat indicator. Pressing said button acts as a gain boost, which is exactly the same as the top deck A EQ kill button. Deck B eq midi kill restarts the deck A track…….! And plenty plenty more….I have removed and reloaded both bits of software with no joy…….how the fneck did I get here….help!!!!
If you’re using any other MIDI controllers, unplug them for the time being and reload the TSI using the large Import button.
Also, which version of Traktor are you using?
That did it! Nice one
awesome
everthing works for except effects :S you know what could be wrong??
You need to be using the the latest version of Traktor (2.1.3, but it’ll work on 2.1.1)
Make sure you’ve loaded the TSI in Traktor using the large Import button and that you leave all the boxes ticked (except Favourites) on the popup window.
Hello,
I was wandering if there isn’t a TAP somewhere on the template in order to correct the markers on the track cos otherwise all the slice and loop effects will pretty much go off the tempo…. is there any way to tap the tempo?
thanks in advance!
Not on this template, I’m afraid. The Mashy 2 template has a dedicated page for loading / marking tracks though. You can download it here: http://digitaldjtools.net/news/touchosc-traktor-2-template-for-ipad-mashy-v2/
Nice template! thank you
Hi, great template I will be sure to donate when I get paid, thanks.
Pretty new to this and tracktor, I notice you mention about the spin back function do you know if this can be fixed? Just really to scan through the track to certain points? Or is that possible and I’m just missing it?
Thanks in advance
It needs a change in Traktor itself in order to be fixed, so it’s not likely. The chances are that it was originally a bug / quirk in Traktor that could be exploited to produce the spinback effect rather than anything NI have actually removed.
You can still use the jogwheels to spin through the track (hold Shift to move it faster), although you can’t get the same effect as the Spinback button used to do (ie., spinning back quickly then gradually coming to a stop).
Guys, I am still with no access to DL links!
im using the latest version of traktor pro 2
and i bought today the latest version of touchOSC
although i downloaded the touchOSC bridge
and also tried to insert my PC’s ip adress i am still having problem connecting the touchOSC with traktor…pls help
If you’re connecting through TouchOSC Bridge there’s no need to enter your computer’s IP address. In TouchOSC settings, turn all other connections off except MIDI Bridge. Make sure your iPad and computer are on the same WiFi network, select MIDI Bridge and your computer should be listed. Just press it to connect.
tnks man,
Ok I have a version 2.0.1 of Traktor and I will not get a update. There’s a way to make de jog wheel and effects on the template to work through OSC editor? Changing the map functions?
You shouldn’t need to change anything in TouchOSC Editor. In Traktor, you’d need to map the ‘Jog Turn and Scratch’ (sorry, I can’t remember the exact name of this command) to the jog wheels. For the FX, as versions after 2.0.1 add new effects), you need to map the Effect Select parameters to the correct effects. Updating is still the easiest though. Is there any particular reason you don’t want to update? I had CPU overload problems after 2.0.1 but these cleared up in v2.5.
i can’t find the download link, please mail me at august@freyvoll.com
Done
I cant find the link either… PLease email me christiantherager@gmail.com
Should be with you now.
Hello guys!
I followed the instructions step by step and still cant get it right!
-my ipad and macbook pro are already connected to the same network
-i set up the midi bridge already
-i choose the jog on layout (which came for free on the version 1.8.1 that i purchased)
-stay connected and send z messages are ON
- the TouchOSC Bridge is open and running
-i am gettin a control blue light on traktor but i cant do anything
i think the probles is that i cant load the template on the controller manager, i tried the Add and Import options that you said, but it doesnt let me import my layout because its named: Jog-On.touchosc instead of Jog-On.tsi
I’m using Traktor 2.5.1
Please i really need help!
I have gig tomorrow and cant figure out whats wrong with my set up!
Thank you very much…
If you’re seeing a blue CTRL light in Traktor then it sounds like you’ve set up the connection OK. Sounds like you don’t actually have the .TSI file. You can download it directly from the hexler.net website here: http://hexler.net/docs/touchosc-setup-traktor. Just click on the ‘jog-on.tsi’ link.
very good
Thank you very much for the help! I really appreciate…
Now everything is working right…
You are a genius.. Keep on rocking!
HELP!!!
Your guide really helped as when I Imported using the big button, now 90% of the functions work! Just 3 questions:
1.) The only 2 features that don’t work are the cross faders and the gains on the 2 decks. How can i fix this?
2.) How do I configure my audio output so that it plugs into sound system? Do i plug the monitor and audio out from my macbook? if so, what should be the settings in traktor?
3.) Minor issue, for FX, it works but i need to hold down the button for it to be active. it deactivates as soon as i lift my finger from the button. how do i switch to toggle?
I am using a retina macbook pro, latest version 1.8 of Touch OSC w/ the included Jog-on, Mountain Lion OS, Traktor Pro 2.5.
Hope you can help me…
1) Sounds like you’re using Traktor in External Mixer Mode. Go to Preferences > Audio Routing and select ‘Internal’.
2) Plug the output / headphones from your Macbook into your sound system. Go to Preferences > Audio Routing and select Output L / R for the Output Master. Note that you can’t monitor through headphones as well unless you use a soundcard with 2 outputs.
3) Hold down the Shift button and the FX button to toggle on / off.
Thank you so much! This is fantastic help and it did the trick!
No worries. Enjoy!
Oh btw, i’m using TouchOSC Bridge.
Hey, everything is working fine, but there is one more question:
After the Update to 2.5 the slow start and stop by clicking shift and play or stop is not possible anymore.
I’m using WIndows 7, Touch OSC and the default Jogonontemplate.
DO I need to change something in the mapping?
It should work fine with the 2.5 update. Try re-importing the TSI. Remember to import using the large Import button and don’t untick anything in the popup windows that appears. Pressing Shift on the Jog-On template to load the effects. FX units 1 and 3 should now have the effects: Beatmasher, Slicer and TTFX loaded.
Which “large” importbutton you mean? I click the button in the “controller manager”.
This one:
http://digitaldjtools.net/images/import_button.png
Thank you, I do this effect now with the FX-Unit, because pressing on Shift makes the 3 Effect in FX Unit 1 chaniging to revenger.
But thank you!
First of all, sorry for my english. I´ve the osculator version, but can´t find osc bridge. Could someone teach me where is this soft, or how can i config this layout using osculator?
thank´s
You can download TouchOSC Bridge from the Hexler website: http://hexler.net/software/touchosc
Hey man Just used touchOSC with your template and i must say it’s really good stuff!
Just a quick question, how do i adjust the BPM Tempo of the deck? Is that possible? As i dont see any instructions on that.
Good work with the template!
Thank you! I’m sorry to say there’s no tempo adjustment on this template I’m afraid. There is on this one though: http://digitaldjtools.net/news/touchosc-traktor-2-template-for-ipad-mashy-v2/
great!
thanks for this amazing map!! i can mix on the fly without the necessity of a wired controller
i’ve noticed 2 things though (on traktor pro v2.5) :
-if you press shift + spin + move the jogwheel you have a fast and prolonged backspin, i don’t know if it works like it used to, it’s a bit trick though because you can hear the different backspin velocities (holding shift and then jogging)
- you say that jogs work and backspin doesn’t after v2.1.1 and viceversa in previous TP versions, is it right? or is there a version where they both work?
keep up the good work!
Thanks fredj!
Ah, I didn’t realise that! It’s been a while since I did anything with this template. I just normally check that they work when a new version of Traktor appears, but hadn’t noticed that. Thank you!
I’m not sure about a version where both work. I don’t have earlier versions of Traktor installed either, so I’m not able to check for you I’m afraid.
Hey, thanks for this great layout!
I was wondering, did somebody make a full 4-deck layout based on this one? It doesn’t seem to be that hard to copy and change the midi mapping but if it’s out there I’d like to find it.
If not I will try myself and post the results here.
Greetz!
I haven’t seen a 4 deck version of this template around either but it’d be relatively easy to do. Just quite a lot of work involved copying / pasting all the commands. Using the Xtreme Mapping app (http://www.xtrememapping.com/) would make this much easier though.
Hi,
Many thanks for this brilliant template!
I’ve just entered the exciting world of iPad for DJing with Traktor v2.6 and this template works fine but it seems that the effects have changed and FX1 and 2 are not Beatmasher, Slicer and Turntable FX.
They are now Delay, BeatSlicker, Reversible. What do I need to change in the mapping to fix this?
Cheers
Mase
You don’t need to change anything thankfully! Traktor doesn’t always load the effects properly the first time for some reason, so just import the TSI again in Traktor. That should fix it and set the effects properly..
When you import, remember to do so using the ‘Import’ button (not ‘Add’) and make sure all the boxes are ticked in the popup window.
If you want to use the new Macro FX in Traktor 2.6, you’ll just need to add them again manually. Go to Preferences > Effects and add each one.
I reloaded the template and manually set the effects and I’ve worked out what the problem is but not how to fix it!
When I press shift is changes beatmasher to delay and turntable effects to reversible! I think that’s where the problem lies
That sentence didn’t make much sense; pressing control seems to change 2 of the effects in group 1 and 2 to something which they shouldn’t be. Hope this helps.
Hmm.. reimporting and pressing Shift *should* actually set the effects to the correct ones (beatmasher, beatslicer and TTFX). You sure you’re keeping the ‘Effects’ box ticked when you load the TSI each time?
Oh, and make sure you press Shift each time you load the TSI. The first time it’ll load the wrong fx but the second time should load the correct ones.
Cheers, no it wasn’t that; I’ve just worked it out! There is a small tweak required on the template afterall
I found the CC number of the shift button in the OSC editor. I looked in the Controller manager and I found that the effect selectors that fire when control is pressed were wrong.
Effect 1 Selector FX U1 -> Set to value delay
Effect 1 Selector FX U2 -> Set to value delay
Effect 3 Selector FX U1 -> Set to reverse grain
Effect 3 Selector FX U2 -> Set to reverse grain
I updated them and now everything is fine.
Do you want me to send you the tweaked version?
Cheers
Mase
Cool! Glad you got it working.
I just had to double check but when I import the TSI, I’m still getting the correct values showing for the Effect Selectors on the Shift button (so your TSI is actually now the same as mine, so no need to send but cheers for the offer!). Strange that you’re having to do a manual fix here though…
Anyway many thanks for the info. Should be helpful to others having the same problem.
No problem!
Are you on the same version of traktor as me 2.6? Maybe the number of effects has increased and this has affected the mapping?
Yep, Traktor Pro 2.6 here. And yes, that’s exactly what causes the problem. The addition of new FX in 2.6 kind of ‘knocks’ the correct effects out of place. Again though, reimporting and pressing Shift again *should* solve the problem most of the time (but evidently not in your case!) Anyway, hope you have fun with it now it’s working properly for you.
Yeah, it’s weird but it’s great to get to the bottom of that one! Thanks for your help!
I bought Traktor to use my Technics more but now I’ve got this iPad and OSC; I can’t see me using my decks ever!
Have a look here to see what I mean

i dont seee the download link!!!
Just emailed you the direct link.
Espectacular!!!!! Mil gracias. Donacion segura!!!!!
Works great! Love it
The FX mapping seems to not function correctly with TP 2.6. Is there an updated TSI file? Or will I need to go in and fix the mapping myself? (I’m not too familiar with MIDI mapping in Traktor.)
It won’t work properly on 2.6 if you already have the new Macro Effects enabled in Traktor and you *don’t* have ‘Effects Settings’ ticked when you import the TSI. Just import the TSI, leave everything ticked then go into Preferences > Effects and add the new effects in again. Everything should work fine.
Thanks for the quick reply! I will try it with the macro FX off. Does it make a difference if one of the FX units is post fader?
No, that should be fine.
how do i get this link? ive logged in and it wont show up……
ryan.sammons@gmail.com if anyone canhelp
anyone know if this will work on Ipad 2 IOS 6 ? i am still with 5.1.1 installed and would like to update to 6. but only if this will work on ios 6..
thanksa
Yes, it works on iOS 6
great thanks for your fast answer! i am worrying to update because some people seems to have trouble with touch osc on ios 6..
No worries
Well I can only vouch for myself but I’ve got it running fine on 2 iPads running iOS 6. I haven’t heard of anyone having trouble but perhaps you could check on the TouchOSC forum first to see if there are: http://hexler.net/forum/viewforum/3/
Thanks mate, i am gonna try it now and let you know about
it is all good working fine in IOS6.1.2. the only strange thing was that the Wi-Fi icon of the Ipad was not showing up after i created the adhoc network with the laptop but it is working anyway, so it is cool!
i miss the spin button working like it was !
but anyway a great thing u did here with that template, really nice
Hi Andrew,
I have TouchOSC v1.8.1 and Trakotr 2.6.1 Is this mapping compatible with this setup? I have it mostly working except the FX and when I press stop it turns on the slicer
Hi neubreed,
Yes, it’s fully compatible with the latest Traktor version (except for the ‘Spin’ button which hasn’t worked since Traktor v2.1.1) .
It sounds like it hasn’t loaded the effects properly for some reason. You should be seeing ‘TURNTABLE FX’ loaded in the 3rd slot of FX Banks 1 and 2 for the ‘Stop’ button to work. You should also see BEATMASHER in slot 1 and BEATSLICER in slot 2.
FX Banks 3 and 4 are ‘free’ to add whatever effects you like (use SHIFT + the FX Faders to cycle through all the effects available).
Try importing the TSI again (using the Import button at the bottom of the screen, NOT the one from the drop-down menu) and make sure that you don’t untick anything in the popup box that appears.
Hope this helps
Oh, and don’t forget to press ‘SHIFT’ once when the TSI has loaded to load the effects.
Thanks so much Andrew,
I was importing via the drop-down as I don’t want to destroy my other controller set-ups .. Two more questions if you don’t mind:
1. Is it possible to import tsi’s without overwriting my current settings?
2. Sometimes I need to beat-match when playing Back to Back .. Can this be done with JogOn .. I can’t seem to find the pitch adjustment.
Cheers.
Hi neubreed,
No problem!
In answer to your questions…
1. Only by importing using the drop-down, but this doesn’t load any effects settings that have been saved with the template. You could try it the other way round perhaps? So load the Jog-On TSI first using the Import button, then add your others one by one using the drop-down. It depends on whether they’ve been saved to include effects settings, etc. for this to work though If you save your current TSIs one by one first using the drop-down (and also export them all as one TSI in case it doesn’t work), then remove them all, then import Jog-On and add the rest one by one with the drop-down.
2. I’m afraid not, no. There’s a tempo ‘nudge’ on the jog wheel, but no dedicated tempo control. It’s relying on you using Sync and it’s not set up at all for manual beat matching. You’d need to do this through the Traktor GUI. Some of my other templates have this though. Mashy 2 (http://digitaldjtools.net/mappings/mashy2/) and All-In-One (http://digitaldjtools.net/mappings/all-in-one/) both have tempo sliders.
Hi,
Been using this for a while A+++ Template.
But ive opened up traktor today and none of the lights are working on the iPad? when I press play/pause nothing lights up.
I’ve restarted and reloaded everything. mega confused.
Hi Ross,
Glad you like the template
Have you made sure that you’ve selected TouchOSC Bridge (or whatever you’re using to connect) as the Out-Port in Traktor > Preferences > Controller Manager? This is the first thing to check if you’re not getting any response on the iPad.
Hope this helps.
Yes hey are set correctly. I’m getting a response form my iPad, It works fine. but there is no light that shows up when a button is pressed which makes it hard to tell if it is on or off!
Also when I select a loop length it skips 3 of the loops. e.g 1 beat loop selected, when the button is pressed to selected the next one up it goes to 32. not sure if its related.
Thanks
Ross
OK. Are you using any other TSIs or MIDI controllers? Which version of Traktor are you using?
Just the Jog-on TSI no other controllers and I’m on version 2.5. I’m using Touch OSC bridge also!
Hmm. It should be fine with your version of Traktor and connecting through TouchOSC. Have you tried any other TouchOSC templates? If so, are they doing the same thing? And it was working OK for you in the past?
I have not tried any other touch osc templates. It must be something to do with the app itself. when i turn my midi bridge off none of the lights show. It was working fine in the past! very strange..
Yeah that is strange. I’d suggest trying out another template anyway just to rule out whether it’s an issue with Jog-On or the app / connection. I’ve just checked it myself using TouchOSC Bridge and everything’s working as it should, although I’m using Traktor 2.6 (but it really should be fine on v2.5 too). It isn’t any of the usual things (like not selecting the Out Port, etc) and without being able to replicate the problem myself it’s difficult to determine what’s causing this problem. Sorry I can’t be of much help!
