Instructions
Setup & Usage Instructions:
Installation: OSX and Windows
IMPORTANT! Ensure you have installed all the programs listed in System Requirements and that you’re using the latest versions.
On your iPad, make sure you’re connected to the same network as your computer. This can either be your router, or an ad-hoc network running from your computer. If you’re getting slow response times using a router, try creating an ad-hoc network instead to link your iPad directly to your computer. Follow this guide for Mac. To do this on Windows 7, you can use Connectify for free. It turns your PC into a wireless hotspot. Depending on your version of Windows, setting up an ad-hoc network varies slightly. Search Google for “adhoc network” and your Windows version.
Open TouchOSC Editor and upload the TouchOSC template to your iPad by using the ‘Sync’ function. There’s a commonly reported problem of people having trouble uploading templates though TouchOSC editor. If you’re having trouble, hexler.net recommend that you try uploading the template to your iPad using iTunes instead. Just connect to iTunes, select your iPad, click the ‘Apps’ tab, click on TouchOSC and drag and drop the template in.
To connect on the iPad, press ‘Settings’ on the iPad, then ‘Wi-Fi’. From here you can choose from a list of available networks. Pick the one you’re using; either the router or the ad-hoc network you’ve just created.
There are several ways to connect your computer to TouchOSC but it’s easiest to use TouchOSC Bridge. Open TouchOSC Bridge on your computer
Open TouchOSC on your iPad and go to Settings. Ensure MIDI Bridge is enabled and you should see your computer’s name listed. Press this to connect.
Open Traktor, go to ‘Preferences’, then ‘Controller Manager’. Click the large ‘Import’ button at the bottom of this screen and browse for the TSI file. Ensure that In-Port and Out-Port on this screen are set to TouchOSC Bridge.
Usage:
Performance Modes
Commonly used mashup tools, such as hotcue buttons and beatmash / beatslice buttons are available by selecting from one of five Performance Modes. The five large pads will trigger various functions and effects depending on which mode you’re in. Holding down Shift and pressing the pads will open up even more functions and effects.
Please note: the Spinback function does not work properly with the latest versions of Traktor (2.1.1+). This is due to a bug / change in Traktor. Hopefully this will be fixed by NI soon. For now though, the Spin button only does a very short (1 second) backspin.

FX Banks
There are 4 FX Banks to choose from. Each features the Beatmasher plus two other effects:
- FX Bank 1 – Beatmasher, Gater, Reverb
- FX Bank 2 – Beatmasher, Filter LFO, Ring Modulator
- FX Bank 3 – Beatmasher, Ramp Delay, Phaser Flux
- FX Bank 4 – Beatmasher, Digital Lo-Fi, Formant Filter

Large FX trigger buttons and sliders means you have a great deal of control over each of these effects and it’s been designed to make it easy to perform Hotcue Juggling / Beatmashing / Beatslicing performances while applying various other effects that sound good when mashed or sliced.
Use the FX On buttons to choose which deck to apply the effects to (Deck A, Deck B or either of the Sample Decks)

Loop Recorder
Traktor 2′s new Loop Recorder is also available and easy to find at the top of the screen.
From this panel, you can set loop length (indicated by the 4, 8, 16 & 32 LEDs). You can also change the dry / wet amount, as well as record, play and delete samples from whatever’s playing at the time.
Sample Decks
There are actually two Sample Deck Modes: Mode 1 and Mode 2.
Press the orange button to enable Sample Mode 2. The orange LED will glow brightly to show you are in Mode 2.
Hold down Shift and press the orange button to access Sample Mode 1. The orange LED will glow dim to show you are in Mode 1.
When in Sample Deck Mode 2, each of the large pads will trigger their respective Slot. Holding shift and pressing a pad will Play / Stop the sample.
In both Sample Deck Modes, Pad 5 becomes a second Shift button.
In Mode 2, holding the second Shift button and pressing a pad will toggle Loop / One Shot on the slot (indicated by a small blue / green LED on the pad).
In Mode 1, the pad will Mute / Unmute the slot (indicated by a small red LED on the pad). The regular Shift button and a pad will load the current sample from the Loop Recorder into the respective slot. The second Shift button and a pad will load whatever loop is playing in Deck A or B to your chosen slot.
The FX faders also act as volume controls for each of the Sample Slots when in Sample Deck Mode 1. Holding Shift will enable Filter control for each of these. In Mode 2, they act as normal, controlling your effects. Use the FX On buttons to choose where you want to apply the effects, ie., to the main deck, the Sample Deck, or both.
EQ Kill buttons and the Filter slider will affect the Sample Deck when in either of the Sample Deck Modes. Notice also that the volume LEDs will show the volume of the Sample Deck when in either of the Sample Deck modes.
Other Features / Functions:
Holding Shift and moving the fader will control the Gain amount (when in any mode other than Sample Deck Mode).
When in Hotcue Mode (red) the Hotcue Mode Button will also act as a Play / Pause button.
Holding Shift and the moving the Filter slider will change the key amount (when in any mode other than Sample Deck Mode).
Holding either Shift button and moving the dry / wet rotary will change the master volume level. The red LED in the centre of this dial will glow if the level is peaking.
When in Mash / Slice Mode (yellow), hold Shift and a pad to activate different slice patterns. Letting go of Shift first then the pad will keep the current slice pattern playing. Hold Shift and the pad again to release the slice effect.
The ‘Juggle’ buttons will knock the song back by one beat (holding Shift will push it forward one beat). When both decks are playing the same song at the same time, pressing the ‘Juggle’ button will knock the second track behind slightly, creating a ‘doubling’ effect when cutting in the second deck with the crossfader.

Known Issues
Known Issues:
The Spinback function does not work properly with the latest versions of Traktor (2.1.1+). This is due to a change in Traktor. Currently, the Spin button performs performs a very short (1 second) backspin.

Well done man finally got it finished.
Nice tutorial and well illustrated.
How/What did you use for the your digital dj tools vocal intro?
SloanY aka Mossy Binlid
Cheers SloanY
Used Ableton Live for the intro. BFD and Stutter Edit VST plugins for the drums. Kontakt VST with Upright Bass preset for bass. An old ‘Battle Breaks’ record for one of the samples and some online text-to-speech generators for the others.
Gotta say, this template looks amazing! Been playing with the “all-in-one” template for a bit but this looks like a much better template. Many thanks for making this available for free and putting all the time and effort in here!
Glad you like them!
The next one’s going to be something a little different. Still TouchOSC and still Traktor, but going to be more like a virtual instrument.
Well done mate, top work indeed. STACKED with features and sweet design too. Hats off to you. Respect
Many thanks Noel! As a fellow template creator, your comments are greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work yourself too
I’m confused about the usage of touchosc & osculator.
I done following but traktor isn’t able to get a signal.
osculator is running – touchosc found the host -> osculator shows me an “untitled’ screen with some messages if I press a button on the iPad of mashys layout.
traktor:
controller manager -> device setup -> mashy -> in-port = osculator out -> out-port = osculator in (8000)
but at the end theres nothing coming to traktor…
I read on the osculator website something with “MIDI Control Changes” but I thought osculator is translating OSC to MIDI. What does it mean?
I’m stuck and get confused about … what is the matter?
All tuts I found don’t say anything more as I done above… ;/
Ah damn… 5 minutes later I cracked the problem… traktor restart… 0o
How did u “crack it”…im still having trouble…there is no mention of osculator being needed as a requirement to get the template to communicate with traktor…im using a mac and was under he assumption)according to what i’ve read) that the midi set up in macs was all thats needed..please help
Yes, you don’t need OSCulator. Open ‘Audio MIDI Setup’, click ‘Window’ then ‘Show MIDI Window’. Double click ‘Network’ and, as long as your iPad and Mac are connected to the same network, you will see your device listed in the ‘Directory’ window. You should then be able to connect. For more detailed info see: http://hexler.net/docs/touchosc-setup-coremidi-network

Just been adding some updates. Should be working now.
@ digitaldjtools…dude, awesome friggin template. Didn’t have any issues with this one aside from the effects, but that’s bc I unchecked that box so I wasn’t expecting them to work. Awesome job…just hope I can get the all in one to work…keep it up man and thanks for posting/sharing!
Many thanks, Steve. Glad you like it
Excellent template but I have one fault – using Mac and Ipad2 with Traktor Pro 2. The right hand FX does not work properly. It is able to switch on the effects but the sliders do not work. How can I fix this?
There’s been a similar problem reported recently which has now been fixed. Please download the template again and load the TSI file into Traktor (remembering to delete the old one first). Please let me know if you’re still having the same problems once you’ve replaced the TSI.
Still not working I am afraid.
Ah, yes I see what you mean now and I’ve fixed the problem
You’ll just need to download the template again. Should be working this time.
Thanks!! Works fine now!
Cool
Sorry about the bug. Thought I’d ironed them all out!
Thanks for letting me know.
thank you
i connetct “Mashy” v2 through midi mobilizer to my PC (Win 7 64)
everything works fine!!
no core midi involved XD
Ah, cool! Thanks for confirming this
you are welcome!
last week I lost my ipad PC connection every 3 mins
today i setup connetify ipad connection in Ad-Hoc, WEP mode
and define the (Connecify) connetction as HOME Network in Win 7 64
problem solved
i keep playing for morn then 30 mins, ipad and PC still connected !!
for your info i got 1 or 2 ms latency in rtpMIDI
tested on lenovo y560 i7 4G
Dude – that’s a truly awesome piece of work – thank you”
I love the layout, but have experienced problems since upgrading to Traktor Pro 2 with Mashy2 on my iPad. It was working fine with Traktor Pro 1 and is now extremely glitchy with Traktor 2. I load a song into the first deck and cannot play it from the Prepare page with the big red circle under Cue like I could before. When a track plays, the volume slider on the Perform page starts moving nonstop and none of the buttons work like they’re supposed to. I deleted and reimported the TSI file and even re-synced the Mashy2 layout to my iPad.
Any ideas on how to get this layout to work on my Macbook with Traktor Pro 2?
Just tested it on a Macbook Pro with TP2 and everything works as it should. A couple of things to try…
The template’s been updated a few times, so download the latest version first, delete the old one and reinstall.
Set up an ad-hoc connection between your Macbook and iPad.
Make sure you have no other templates running in Traktor. Delete all TSIs and make sure that Mashy 2 is the only one loaded, ensuring that the In-Port and Out-Port is NOT set to ‘All Ports’. This needs to be the name of the Ad-Hoc network, eg., iPad.
I deleted all of the other TSI files in Traktor 2 and it started working again. Thank you for the prompt reply.
No problem. Glad you got it working.
nice work. if you don’t ind me asking, how do you get the LED to correspond to the monitor level. that is just excellent!
It’s just a case of mapping the Monitor PFL Left and Right MIDI Outs from Traktor to a series of LEDs in TouchOSC. Planning on doing a MIDI tutorial soon though, which will go into this in more detail. If you’d like to email me at digitaldjtools@gmail.com in the meantime though, I can go into a little more detail though if you like.
1st, I gotta say that this template is freaking AWESOME! And awe inspiring. O.k. on to my question. I’m new to Touch OSC and OSCulator (kinda was forced in this direction while my controllers etc. are in storage for a bit during a move), but I was wondering, do you have the OSCulator file that goes along with this template? The reason I ask is because without it (as I understand it) I have to go into Traktor, see what values you had assigned to each knobs, faders, etc. and then go back into OSCulator and make these assignment. Which is a bit tough as your template is very condensed (but very cool!), so some times I had my volume fader controlling something else … am I missing something here?
See what I’m saying? Without the OSCulator file have to manually enter the CC Chanel and Value in OSCulator so the iPad can effectively talk to Traktor. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
I’m also working on my own template so any help from a seasoned pro, would be appreciated.
Regards,
DJ Q
Thanks, DJ Q! Glad you like it
Yep, I see what you mean. Firstly though, you don’t need OSCulator any more since the 1.7 update of TouchOSC. It now sends out MIDI commands directly. Just select CoreMIDI instead of OSC in your TouchOSC setup screen on your iPad. Once you’ve connected through CoreMIDI, the iPad will communicate directly with Traktor without the need for OSCulator to act as ‘middle man’.
I do have the old OSCulator file somewhere, but you shouldn’t need it. In fact it’s actually easier doing it this way…
If you want to see what MIDI commands are mapped to each button, open up the template in TouchOSC editor (you need to use the latest version, 1.5+). Click the button / fader in question and click the MIDI tab on the left. This will show you the MIDI channel and CC number I’ve used.
Just download the latest versions of everything (the template on this page, TouchOSC 1.7.2 and TouchOSC Editor), connect through CoreMIDI and you should be set.
If you’re thinking of adding to it though, you can save yourself the hassle by just adding new commands to a different MIDI channel. I’ve used channels 1 – 4, so if you use channel 5 upwards, you can just keep adding things and assign them to any MIDI CC you like without having to worry about creating duplicate commands.
Hope this helps
I’d love to see what you’ve been working on, by the way. I’ve just set up a forum for support questions but also so that people can share their own stuff and help each other with templates. If you’re happy to share it there, I can help you out myself, but I’m also hoping that other users can contribute too eventually once it’s gained more members.
HOLY CRAP!!! THAT’S SWEET! I didn’t notice that you didn’t need OSCulator any more … anyway it’s still a cool little app.
Thanks SO MUC for the quick response. One more question though, or issue. Now I have my iPad talking to Traktor2 however, the controls are all over the place … my deck A volume slider is controlling my mid-hi, my deck B volume slider is activating record, the loop mode button is controlling deck C’s mid-hi … and a whole bunch of other oddities. What did I do wrong? The fact that I’m using a 4 deck set-up shouldn’t matter should it?
I’d like to get this going, as I’m interested to see how you set up the template, so any help you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks.
Like I said, I’m new to the TouchOSC world, so I’m still making my way around it and working on my own template (which is VERY basic at the moment) but I’d be willing to share my template when and if I get a better grasp of TouchOSC.
Thanks again for a super template.
DJ Q
Sounds like you may have another TSI loaded as well as Mashy 2. Go to preferences > Controller Manager and click the dropdown to the right of ‘Device’ (top left hand corner). Make sure that there’s only the Mashy template in there. Delete any others by selecting them in turn, then pressing ‘Edit’, then ‘Delete’. Again, also make sure you’re using the latest version of everything just to be on the safe side.
I’m hoping to do a tutorial soon on MIDI mapping with Traktor and TouchOSC. Planning to go from the very basics to more advanced stuff like mapping MIDI Outs to volume LEDs and suchlike. That should help you on your way! Remember there’s the forum too (which really needs some more members at the moment!!) where you can ask for help with anything MIDI related.
Hmm, didn’t think that would be an issue as I’ve had multiple TSI loaded with other controllers. ANyway, I deleted them all and it didn’t help. Now the Mashy TSI doesn’t work. Traktors CTRL indicator isn’t showing anything when I have just the Mashy TSI loaded and move the faders. However, if I create a new generic controller and tell it to “learn” right away it finds anything that I’m touching. Also, if I load my own templete that I created for OSC it works … I’m missing something.
Time to take this to the forum instead of taking up space on this thread.
Thanks for you time and help.
DJ Q
No worries and sorry that it’s worse than it was before! Yep, definitely sounds like it’s an issue with the template then. I was thinking that you may have had two TSIs assigned to ‘All Ports’ and Mashy was controlling the other. Deleting the others would have normally ruled this out.
Anyway, yes, see you on the forum
Determined to get this sorted for you…
hey looks like a neat bit of work
one quick question are the bass mid and treb just kills or can you turn them up/down?
Just kills, I’m afraid. I was going to map EQs to the FX sliders (as a dual function), but I ran out of Modifiers in Traktor.
ok thanks just managed to get it working it took a while but its awsome once you get it on
cheers
I have a problem . After i set touchosc editor , osculator and traktor my touchosc on ipad did not see network . I cant add layout . Whats the problem ?
You don’t need OSCulator now to use this template. Have you tried everything listed here?: http://digitaldjtools.net/forum/digital-dj-tools-forum-group2/template-support-forum2/cant-get-a-template-to-work-check-here-first-thread12/
I know , but if i open midi network setup on my macbook it didnt see anything .. Of course touch osc is open on ipad and coremidi is enabled . iPad cant find inputs and outputs too. Macbook and iPad – connected to the same WI FI network .
Is this through a router or ad-hoc network?
router
Try with an ad-hoc, to rule out firewall problems. There’s a guide here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8339.html
prepare page doesn’t work.. can’t scroll to place exact cues I want.. and no eq controls?
Make sure that both TSIs are loaded by using the large Import button and that you’ve set the In Port and Out Port on both TSIs too to the name of your MIDI Network Session. There are no EQ slider / fader controls, just kills on this template.
For some reason I can’t find the option for CoreMIDI on TouchOSC for my iPad. I have it on my iPhone but no iPad. I have the most current version of TouchOSC on both devices. Can someone help mt out please?
yeah, i’ve already registered but unfortunately i’m not able to donload this link below
http://digitaldjtools.net/download/DigitalDJTools_Mashy2.zip
thanks
Strange. Can’t see any problems here.
I’ll email you the .zip file to the email address you registered with.
Very easy set up, covered ALL points of error to the letter. I highly recommend watching the tutorial, having someone breakdown this complexity and show you straight forward what does what is very helpful for this. I can’t wait to play with this. Good job, mate, and expect some suggestion for mashy3!
Perfect Layout! However, I am adding a “beat phase monitor” light, right under the Vu level LED. Just helps me personally, but you saved me a entire month of mapping lol. Thanks!
great job here! that’s a funky machine!!
Love the videos, especially the more recent one. Nice to see the template being put to good use. Your modifications look nice too
Hi folks!
Here’s some edit I did on this cool layout that I like to share with you all.
Thanks to the creators. Applause to them.
The editing I did are just copy/paste and design, so the TSI file itself is not changed at all.
You can just swap between this template and the original simply loadin’ them in your TouchOSC iPad app.
Images of the layout here:
http://www.autoripersanremo.com/danmartini/mashy2DM1.jpg
http://www.autoripersanremo.com/danmartini/mashy2DM2.jpg
The layout in use:
http://youtu.be/5wv8eKMH3AU
Changes with the original:
- Longer channel faders (that’s an ‘old school’ remind.. longer is better)
- Shorten Mashy&Fx level faders (got live problems touching the page buttons, so I did a little “safe zone” with text in between)
- Added Monitor Deck Select & Monitor On/Off buttons on the Perform page, over channel faders (I missed them…)
- Added short channel faders on the Prepare page (I missed them too)
- Enlarged FX On/Off & Kill freq buttons
- Recolored & Box fitted

Thanks for sharing!
I forgot DDJT logo, now inserted.. but uh, no more post?
Everything is working great but one problem… When i switch the buttons to the left of the effect faders it switches the 2nd and 3rd effects but the first effect keeps changing to delay instead of beatmasher2 How do i fix this? it happens on both effects decks
Are you using Traktor 1? I know there is a problem with selecting FX if you’re not using Traktor 2.
You’ll need to open Preferences > Controller Manager and look for all instances of ‘Effect 1 Select’ (there are 10 in total). Change the value here from ‘Delay’ to ‘Beatmasher2′. That should fix it.
Any way I can get an email with the download link here? Can’t seem to get it form here even though I’m logged into word press…
Please help. Want to use this tomorrow for a gig.
arabeanknites@gmail.com
email sent (I sent you the other template you asked for too)
you guys are a god send … got it all to work perfectly !!!
Now to practic fiddling with these buttons before my 1 hour set tonight.
Thanks!
No problem
Thank you, this is awesome
Cheers!
This is FANTASTIC and I actually feel lot more inspired since then!
Keeping “perform” actions on one page and the loading part on another is just the right thing to keep along with the creativity (I have lost quick intention while switching through pages).
Logic on the Performance page is quickly natural, I feel.
I have also discovered new Traktor’s functions opening new possibilities: that’s so great!
Finally I kind love using just MIDI rather than OSC and a third-party software for this kind of controls.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful work here!
Many thanks for your kind comments. Glad to hear you’re enjoying it!
Hello everybody!
My name is Pierpaolo and I write from Italy…
I think this tOSC layout is ideal for me, but I can’t make it work with my traktor pro 2.0….
Some buttons on the layouts go crazy:
- the “fx on” green and blue buttons activate fx unit 1 on deck a and fx unit 2 on deck b but the orange ones don’t work)…
- in play mode on deck a when I hold shift and Juggle the fx2 fader switch betwen 0 and 100%…
Where I do wrong?
Ther is some extra feature that I have to enable into Traktor Pro?
Hi Pierpaolo,
You shouldn’t need to enable any extra features.
Try reloading the template again.
Make sure that there are no other TSIs loaded. If you do need to use other controllers, make sure that none of the in Ports and Out Ports are set to ‘All Ports’.
ciao Paolo sei riuscito?
Great, awesome template! I just have some problem with the right side fx, they don’t move. Moreover, like Pierpaolo (maybe is a problem related to italian accent when you insult the machine), I cannot activate the fx 1 and 2 for both the A and B side. What should I do, I ask.
Thanks!
Try everything on this checklist first: http://digitaldjtools.net/forum/digital-dj-tools-forum-group2/template-support-forum2/cant-get-a-template-to-work-check-here-first-thread12/
hello,
searching for help because all the stuff is confusing me. I do have two turntables, a mixer ( with output for an effect unit ) and an iPad 2. As I wanted to buy an x1 controller, I thought about to put the x1 layout into the ipad. I know all the templates you can control traktor with, but if I want to use the ipad and its osc without latency or because I am in a club, how can I connect the iPad with the mixer? how does it work with camera connection kit, can I use the same templates that are all running via WiFi? What about the Alesis iO Dock? So the quastion arises whether I can use OSC templates via USB connection.
Thanks for your help, hope you can answer all my questions.
Joosh
The wifi connection through a Mac is very solid. However, if you want to connect through USB, I’d recommend the Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer. I can’t get it working with the camera connection kit, but the Midi Mobilizer is fine.
This doesn’t connect with the mixer though. You can only connect to your computer.
nice, thanks. any problems running on windows 7?
I’ve always had slightly worse lag on Windows compared to on a Mac. Only ever tried through Windows 7, so not really sure if it’ll work any better on other versions. If you’re going to use Windows 7 though, I’d recommend getting the fastest / best quality wifi adapter you can and connect via ad-hoc network.
Hi there,
I like to give you some thumbs up for this awesome template. I was looking for something like this and found that the most templates are to detailed for my kind of use. This is just great.
There’s only one problem and I can’t figure out what it is. The ‘spinback’ button isn’t working here. When I press this button it only sets the tempo to -100% and that’s it. So to music stops instantly. Can you help me with this?
Thanks for letting me know about this. Seems to be a problem with Traktor v2.1.1. Working on a fix now!
Been looking into this a little further and realised that I can’t actually fix this as it’s a problem with Traktor itself. Since the 2.1.1 update, the button still spins the track back but only for a fraction of a second. I’m hoping NI will fix this, but there was no fix in v2.1.2.
Oke, to bad they didn’t fixed it. Is there a way to let them know about this bug? I try to send them an email. By the way, a really nice new feature would be a new page with two jog-wheels on it and big knobs for hot cue and FX. So it is really easy to ‘drum’ with cue points and add FX to that (delay, reverb, etc)
Yeah, I’ll send a bug report and post on the NI forum.
Nice idea regarding the large jogwheel and buttons, by the way. I’ll consider that for a future release.
Hello, I love your work. This template is simply amazing!!!
I have a problem though:
I’m using TouchOSC 1.8, traktor pro 2.1.1 and TOuch OSC Bridge.
Everything works but the FX on the right deck, they don’t react at all and I also had trouble with the left FX that was activating the Delay instead of the BEatmasher 2 reading your post about “Effect 1 select”…
But I still have issues with the right one…what can I do?
The only tsi loaded is yours.
Best,

What happens when you try to apply FX? Do any effects get loaded? What buttons light up on Traktor when you try to use the FX section?
Actually the FX are loaded, triggered and everything works properly just with the left section, on the right one Traktor displays on top (effect 2) a beatslicer and at the bottom (Effect 4) an empty slot, but when I use the iPad template, the right upper 4 balls for FX and the “dicers” at the bottom specific for fx (the one at the corner) nothing happens.
Did you load the TSI using the large import button?
has there been a fix for the spinback effect or any info on the bug fix?
No reply from NI and, despite much tweaking, no way of getting this to work without a fix from NI. I’ll work in Traktor 2.0.3 but then you’d be losing some of the other features.
Traktor pro 2 ,osc bridge, touchosc,. I got everything connected but only the prepare page works ,when I’m on perform page nothing works ,how do I fix it? Thanx
First, make sure you’ve load the template using the large ‘Import’ button.
Then go into Preferences > Controller Manager.
Click the Device drop down menu and you should see two mappings in there (page 1 and page 2). Make sure that your In Ports and Out Ports are set to TouchOSC Bridge (or whatever you’re using to connect) on BOTH pages.
Never mind I got it ,I didn’t set the ports on page 1 .thanx awesome template
hello friends, take mashy2 and modify to my taste, I leave for someone to try it.
sorry for my English, I’m using a language translator of google.

Great work Nicolas! Thanks for sharing
could you test it?
Just tried it out now and everything seems to be working as it should
good! I made another TouchOSC with its own map. I would like to see and try

Excellent template!! I just have one little problem… the mid kill for the deck A sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t… any ideas??
Thanks!
Hmmm.. There’s no reason it shouldn’t work. Does this happen when you’re on page 1 (deck a/b)? The kills control deck c & d on page 2, so just want to rule this out…
It happens on the Perform page, all the other kills work just fine, it’s only the mid kill for the deck A that sometimes seems to get stuck or something… I have tried to delete the template from the iPad and add it again but no luck
Sorry, I was thinking of a different template in my last answer. Ignore what I said about page 1 controlling decks a/b and page 2 controlling decks c/d (this is the Jog-On template). Sorry for any confusion!
Just checked now on Mashy 2 with latest version of Traktor and TouchOSC and can’t find any problems with the mid kill for Deck A. It’s working as it should.
Do you have any other MIDI devices running? Does the blue CTRL light come on in Traktor each time you press the mid kill button?
No worries!! Thats what I thought cause I’m also familiar with the Jog on template.
I don’t have any other MIDI devices running, and yes, the blue Ctrl light comes in Traktor when I press the mid kill button, even those times when it doesn’t work
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I’m running Traktor 2.0.1? I find it really weird because all the template works excellent except for this
I’ve found what the problem is. It won’t work when you’re in Loop Mode or FX Mode, but works in Hotcue Mode and Play Mode on Deck A. This explains why it sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t.
I’ve just checked and it’s a bug in the template itself.
I’ll fix it and re-post the template for download. I’ll let you know when it’s been changed.
Thanks for noticing this and letting me know!
Great! Thanks!!
OK, that’s been fixed and uploaded now. You should see v2.3 in the download box above. Just download and re-import the TSI and it should be working for you.
Thanks again for pointing this out and sorry for any confusion along the way!
Done, it works perfectly !! Thanks a lot!!
No worries
Great job
I works with this AND my kontrol s4 togheter AND I’m doing many many things I have so much fun with the jog that move all the effect togheter
thank you very much
Great template, man. I’m having a spot of trouble with the TSI, though. The template works fine on Page 1, or the “Perform” page. But there doesn’t seem to be any defined mapping in the TSI file for the “Prepare” page. Am I doing something wrong? I could just be dim.
Thanks for any help!
Make sure you load the TSI using the large Import button. This will load both pages of commands.
Once loaded, select each TSI page from the drop down menu and make sure that TouchOSC Bridge (or whatever you’re using to connect) is selected from the In Port and Out Port menus.
Just noticed there is a problem with the TSI that may give you this error. It’s updated now so try downloading and importing again.
Any chance of an extra page for library browsing soon?
Not too sure what you mean. There’s already a page for browsing the library on there.
Oh i see, i mean, it would be great to be able to see the actual library on the ipad instead of looking at it on the computer.
That would be great, yes
Sadly not possible though. Traktor can’t output track data unfortunately, just MIDI.
I was thinking may be something through itunes remote service, do you think that could be possible?
Nice idea but still not possible I’m afraid
That’s cool, keep it up guys, excellent job right here!
Thanks
i have the prepare page issue i cant use it and when i click the drop down menu i only get one page sh owning for control’s
Make sure you load the Traktor .TSI using the large ‘Import’ button at the bottom of the Preferences window. If you load it through Controller Manager > Device > Import, only one template will be loaded (which is what I suspect you’ve done).
Many thanks. That has solved the problem with the FX preset being overwritten by Delay. I now have a situation where selecting the “Mash / Slice Mode” reverts the FX1 slot to delay again. Also, using shift in this mode doesn’t “slice”. Any ideas on that one? (For info, importing twice didn’t do the trick sadly!)
I’ve just noticed a problem with the TSI. Give it a few minutes and try downloading and importing again.
Should be working now
Hi There. First of all, thank you for making this. It’s awesome. I’m having a slight problem though. The 1st FX slot seems to be stuck on “Delay”. It doesn’t change when the other two do (i.e. when switching between FX group presets). This means the “mash” functionality doesn’t work (i end up with a delay effect instead). I’m on a Mac (Lion) using an iPad 3, latest versions of everything including Traktor (2.5.0). Any ideas? Cheers
It should work OK on Traktor 2.5. A couple of things to check…
Sounds silly, but try importing the .TSI into Traktor twice in a row (remember to use the large Import button). Each time make sure that you leave all the boxes ticked in the popup dialogue box. This ensures that all the effects are loaded and should stop Delay replacing the Beatmasher (there are 10 in total).
Failing that, go into the Assignment Table for the TSI and look for the command: FX Unit > Effect 1 Selector. Change any that have the Value: Delay to Beatmasher2.
Apologies. Found one more FX Slot 1 assign that i’d missed, that solved that problem. Still not getting anything with the shift-mash combo of buttons though…
The Shift + Mash buttons rely on having Beatslicer loaded into FX Unit 3 (and Delay should be in FX Unit 4). The effect should load automatically after pressing the yellow button on the template.
Hmm. Doesn’t seem to be doing that for me. Pressing the yellow button loads up – Beatmasher, Flanger Flux and Iceverb into slots 1,2 and 3 on FX1. Also, have just noticed I have the “stuck delay in slot 1″ problem on the other side now as well (but can fix that with the above instructions).
Incidentally, when I load in the TSI, I only get the one ticked box, all others are greyed out. Is that right?
Yes, you should be seeing more than one tickbox but I’ve just noticed that this an error in the way I saved the template last.. Try downloading the files again. I’ve just made a few changes which should fix this.
I think this should sort out the other problems you’re having with FX selection too, but let me know if it doesn’t.
It is now… Perfect!
Thank you so much for your help. I can see myself having a great deal of fun with this over the weekend!
No worries! Have fun
No worries! Enjoy
I’m using Traktor 2.5.1 (R13951) demo version in combination with Mashy v2 (downloaded yesterday). I’ve imported with the Import button, And using the TouchBridge connection mode,
The problem i’m encountering is that none of the buttons in the Prepare tab work. I tried by using the Load A and Load B buttons but they don’t do anything.
The buttons on the Perform tab do work properly, except for the spinback button but apparently that’s still a bug in Traktor since 2.1?
Any clues about the Prepare tab?
I think I may know what the problem is…
When you load the TSI into Traktor, it loads 2 templates into the assignment table. Check the drop-down box and check that you have TouchOSC Bridge (or whatever you’re using to connect) from the In Port and Out Port on the 2nd page (Prepare) as well as the 1st page (Perform).
It’s easy to miss this.
Thank you. It solved the problem. You’ve done a great job on this template. Also enjoy your tutorial videos, they will definitely come in handy!
Keep it up.
can’t download template…
won’t someone send it to me please?

I can’t download the template as well, would you mind to send it to goodpeeps@yahoo.com thanks
Just emailed you now.
Hey, Which version of Traktor is the Download meant for? Cos i’m running 2.0.3, and The Mashy V.2.0.1 from TraktorBible and it ran Well for me However, I had the same problem as other people were facing with the Beatmasher being replaced by Delay as well as the problem that I could adjust all the FX on the left side but the right one only changed the effects, I couldn’nt change their parametres. So I downloaded the latest version from this site, but now none of my effects buttons are working!!
Was there a version that you had built and tested with 2.0.3 or should i upgrade to a particulaar version??
Yes, there have been changes in Traktor since 2.0.3 which meant having to change the template accordingly. The easiest thing is to update to the latest version of Traktor. If you don’t want the new Remix Decks though, it’ll still work on Traktor v2.1.3. Remember to load it by using the large Import Button so that all the Effects settings are loaded.
Thanks for the quick reply! yeah, i had thiught so, I’ll try updating it to the latest version and check it, but I’ve heard that the latest version has a lot of issues regarding random crashes and distorted sound. Any info on this? Btw, this is probably the best layout I’ve seen for TouchOSC. Hats off to all those who worked on it, If i can get it running properly on my system, It’s definitely going to be part of my live setup!! this thing is more powerfule than a lot of controllers on the market today. Great job guys!!
No worries. And thanks for your kind words.
I’ve had no trouble with v2.5 but I’ve heard that people have. The template should still work on the previous version though if you’re having trouble with 2.5.
Hey! Great work! Just one thing – the fx are not working.Have no idea why.
Running on PC Win7. Some latency but i`ll try an ad-hoc.
The usual reason for the FX not working is if you’ve loaded the template using ‘Add’ instead of ‘Import’ or if you’re using an older version of Traktor. Import the TSI using the large ‘Import’ button and make sure you don’t untick anything from the popup wiindow.
Thanx a lot for a response. Fixed it. And now another thing, when I’m in a search mode sometimes the list start to run through the tracks continuously, like if the”up” button sticked, and I can’t stop it running other way than reloading traktor. Annoying thing. Any thoughts about the issue?
Hmm… I’m not 100% sure about this. Does it do this on its own without you pressing anything? Do you have any other MIDI devices plugged in? If so, unplug them and test again. My first guess is that it’s some kind of controller conflict…
No other midi devices. It do this when I scroll up and down the list with the buttons on the prepare section.
I’m still not sure what could be causing this, but have you tried turning off the auto repeat on the up/down buttons?
To do this, assuming you’re using Traktor 2.5 or above, go to Preferences > Controller Manager and select the ‘Prepare’ TSI from the Device drop-down. Scroll down the Assignment Table until you see the all the commands named: Select Up/Down (there’ll be a few of these). Untick the boxes marked Auto Repeat.
This may fix it but it’s not really solving the problem.
I’ve had similar trouble in the past with commands ‘sticking’ when going though a router and not an ad-hoc network. Although the problem you’re having sounds like it’s connected with specific commands so I’m not sure whether this would be the issue.
I’ll post again if anything else comes to mind.
Thank you for the response.
For two days it looks like working ok. Running an ad-hoc connection, so may be it solves the issue.
I have a 5 hour gig today, so i will take a risk and use the setup. It’s so much fun.
Thank you one more time for the work.
No problem
Hope it all goes well!
